Politeness Without Purpose Doesn’t Get You Paid

MOVE the Conversation Forward

Politeness matters. Likeability matters.

But what truly moves a conversation forward is asking relevant, intentional questions.

The right questions invite guests to open up. They lower resistance, create trust, and give you permission to guide the process.

When questions are connected to the conversation and clearly beneficial to the guest you can move with intention without creating friction.

Random questions feel intrusive.

Relevant questions feel helpful.

That’s the difference.

M | Map the Guest

Everything starts with understanding.

Mapping the guest means uncovering their needs, motivations, concerns, and where they are in the buying or ownership process. When you do this well, the conversation feels natural… not forced.

Without mapping the guest, you’re guessing.

Guessing creates hesitation on both sides.

O | Outline the Path

Guests don’t resist direction when they understand it.

Outlining the path removes uncertainty and builds confidence. When guests know what’s coming next and why it matters to them, they’ll become more comfortable with moving forward.

Clarity reduces friction.

V | Vibe

People buy from people they like.

Vibe is how you deliver the process, your tone, energy, confidence, and authenticity. It’s where professionalism meets connection. The right vibe makes the conversation feel easy, human, and safe.

But vibe without intention is just small talk.

E | Execute

Insight without action doesn’t produce results.

Execution means confidently asking for the next step, oftentimes the appointment, the commitment, the decision. That isn’t pressure. That’s respect for the guest’s time and your own. A closed mouth doesn’t get fed.

Guest-Centric Doesn’t Mean Passive

Being guest-centric doesn’t mean you sit back and hope the guest figures it out.

It means you’re focused on delivering a wow guest experience. Clear communication, thoughtful guidance, and real value at every step. Guests want the experience to be simple and smooth.

You can serve the guest with integrity and still be a salesperson.

Politeness is expected.

MOVE is the strategy.

When you map the guest, outline the path, create the right vibe, and execute with purpose, the sale becomes the natural next step…. not a forced one.

That’s how you elevate the guest experience.

….. And that’s how you get paid.
